Become an Ambassador
Biochemical Society Ambassadors play an essential role in helping the Biochemical Society deliver its mission.
They are the first point of contact for the Society at their institution or organisation, where they raise the profile of the Society, promote its activities, and encourage new membership. Ambassadors help to organise local events such as student receptions, a presence at Freshers’ Fayres and sponsored seminars, using these as an opportunity to promote the benefits of Biochemical Society membership.
Ambassadors also act as a conduit for the transfer of ideas between local molecular bioscientists and the Society, and strengthen the Society’s relationships and collaborations with their organisation.
Ambassadors are asked to...
- Promote the Biochemical Society and its activities, training events, meetings, outreach initiatives, grants and journals
- Help recruit new Biochemical Society members at their institution or organisation
- Consider organising a Biochemical Society sponsored seminar or event to raise its profile and recruit new members.
- Attend, either in person or virtually, the annual Ambassadors’ Day to keep updated on the activities of the Society and provide feedback, and to network with other Ambassadors
