Biochemistry Focus Webinar Series
60 minutes
How to deliver biomolecular science honours research projects with limited lab bench time - Part II
Due to social distancing, shielding and travel restrictions, lab time and bench space will be limited for many final year biomolecular science undergraduates in the 2020/2021 academic year. To meet the aims and learning objectives of final year honours research projects under these conditions, projects will require adaptation. In this two-part webinar series, we will hear from supervisors and students who have led or undertaken non-traditional projects with limited lab time.
In Part II, we are joined by Dr Aysha Divan and & Dr Vas Ponnambalam who share their experiences of delivering computational projects. The focus is the interrogation of gene expression data sets of cancer patients, statistical analyses using R and building up models of cancer disease progression and patient survival. This webinar is Chaired by Professor Richard Reece, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) at the University of Kent and Chair of the Portland Press Ltd Board.
